The owner is a local blues enthusiast who also organizes blues festivals and has even written a book on delta blues. If you want to know what's happening in Clarksdale, you can't do better than the information on the store web site, or just by asking the owner while you're there. If you're in Clarksdale it's worth a visit.
This place has everything you need to know about the blues. The owner is great! He let my friends and me busk in front of the store when I was in town for a festival. What a good time. You can't experience Clarksdale without Cathead!
The owner here was super helpful. He hand-drew a map that led me on an exciting 3-hour road trip through the Delta. He then told me about a local blues show. Without his help, I would have missed most of the magic of this amazing part of the country. Thank you!
